In the current economic climate, demand on our main Dublin Food Bank has increased steadily, as more and more people look for help with the most basic foodstuff for their families. This developing demand led to the creation of a new ‘Community Food Bank’ which is an initiative that Crosscare has based in the heart of communities affected by either food poverty or deprivation. In 2016, we distributed 8,000 food parcels through our 6 community food banks.

The food banks have seen huge growth in the last year, and we intend to continue to grow to meet pressing need, and to continue modernise so that we are offering communities most in need the best possible service.
