The Crosscare Dublin Food Bank is in operation since 1989 and located at Lagan Road, Glasnevin, Dublin 11. Food banks are a central distribution warehouse for goods donated by manufacturers, distributors and growers. The products received can be those that are nearing ‘best before’ dates, can be damaged or products that have changed packaging as well as simply perfect donations.  It is our mission to mobilise communities to assist in addressing the causes of food poverty and food deprivation, both are serious factors for Irish  society moving into the future.

The Food Bank redistribute donated goods to approximately 50 charities including the Simon Community, Focus Ireland, St. Vincent de Paul and other Crosscare services. In 2016, we distributed 1,468 tonnes of surplus, end of line or donated food or hygiene products from our main food bank to member charities and not-for-profit organisations.
